Privacy Policy
Effective April 26, 2026
Streaming Browser is a macOS browser companion for streaming video websites. This page explains exactly what data we touch and where it lives. The short version: nothing leaves your Mac unless a streaming service or Apple needs it.
1. Information we don't collect
- Personal information (name, email, address, phone)
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Browsing history or viewing history
- Contacts, location, microphone, or camera
- Device identifiers tied to you
2. Information stored locally on your Mac
The app keeps a small amount of state so it can pick up where you left off. All of it stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.
- Cookies and login state from the streaming sites you visit. Managed by the system browser engine (WKWebView), the same way Safari handles cookies.
- Last-visited URL per service, so each service reopens to where you were. Stored in the app's UserDefaults.
- Bookmarks, workspace presets, and app preferences. UserDefaults.
- Optional saved logins (only if you opt in). Stored in the macOS Keychain, encrypted by macOS. Not synced to iCloud unless you enable iCloud Keychain at the OS level. You can delete any or all of them at any time from Settings → Privacy → Saved logins.
3. Third parties
The app makes only the following outbound network connections:
- The streaming services you choose. Each service has its own privacy practices, governed by their own policies. Streaming Browser does not modify or proxy these connections.
- Apple for App Store purchases, receipt validation, and (if you opt in) AirPlay / system-level features.
- RevenueCat for subscription management. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID (a random UUID) and the receipt blob from Apple. No personal information is sent.
- Google's S2 favicon service to fetch a small icon for each streaming service in the dock. Only the service domain (e.g.
netflix.com) is sent — never your activity, never your account.
4. In-app purchases
Subscription and lifetime purchases are processed by Apple. Streaming Browser receives only the entitlement status (Pro vs Free) — never your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions.
5. Children
Streaming Browser is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is rated 17+ in the App Store because it loads third-party streaming sites, and you should review those services' age requirements separately.
6. Data deletion
Open Settings → Privacy → Reset everything to remove all locally stored cookies, saved page locations, bookmarks, and Keychain credentials in one click. Uninstalling the app also removes its sandboxed local data.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy, we'll update this page and surface a notice in the app. Material changes will require you to acknowledge the new policy before continuing.
